AR startups are also introducing their unique takes on the concept. Founded in China, Rokid is one such company, leading the way with the Rokid AR Studio, its recently released spatial computing platform.

The Rokid Max has also become a must-carry item for me when I go on flights because the display is much better than most airplane screens.

The glasses feature dials to adjust diopters, which means those with near-sightedness can adjust the visuals to match what they need, without requiring them to put on contacts.

As it stands, the Rokid Max is a decent contender in the consumer AR space. It is lightweight, competitively priced, has a host of compatible apps and delivers crisp images.

I've used the Rokid Max AR glasses – and now I'm sold on the benefits of AR.
